Emily Davenport is a NY & NJ licensed psychotherapist, supervisor, author and mental wellness expert. She’s passionate about treating women who struggle with anxiety and trauma as well as consulting on trauma informed practices.

Emily’s trauma-informed approach to therapy is rooted in a non-pathological framework, harnessing evidence-based and creative treatment methods. Treatment specialities modalities include; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Art Therapy to foster well-being.

With over 15-years of clinical experience, Emily has worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient psychiatric units, day treatment centers, community and private practice settings. During her tenure as a group practice owner, she supervised a team of nine therapists, and oversaw a clinical operations of over 130 clients.

Prior to founding Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, Emily held positions at Bronx Psychiatric Center, New York City Children’s Center, and The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorder Treatment.

Emily has brought her clinical expertise to the tech, startup and corporate wellness space as a behavioral health consultant and workshop facilitator. She advises and presents on topics such as; employee wellness, evidence-based wellness practices, trauma-informed care programming, and product development. Emily also delivers innovative trainings and presentations on mental health, behavioral science, and the intersection of technology and mental health care. Mrs. Davenport has served as a corporate wellness facilitator for clients, such as; Netflix, Nespresso, Americorps, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the Giorgio Armani Corporation.

As a member of New York University's Art Therapy Department advisory committee, she helps inform best clinical practices for Art Therapists in training.

Mrs. Davenport has been featured in numerous media outlets such as; Forbes, Insider Weekly, Bustle, Buffalo News, and Mind Body Radio where she advocates for the power of Art Therapy. Her debut book, Social Skills For Teens With Anxiety, was published by Callisto Media in 2025.

Emily holds a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University and a Bachelor's in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. I completed my clinical internship training at Four Winds Hospital and The Jewish Board for Family and Children’s Services. My Masters thesis examined the intersection of Art Therapy and Mindfulness through an attachment lens.

Among my accomplishments, my proudest role is mothering three children in Eastchester, NY.
