Emily Davenport, ATR-BC, LCAT, LPAT

Emily Davenport is New York and New Jersey licensed psychotherapist, supervisor, author and mental wellness expert. She’s passionate about treating adults and parents who struggle with anxiety, trauma and parenting.

Emily’s trauma-informed approach to therapy is rooted in a non-pathological framework, harnessing evidence-based, somatic, and creative treatment methods. Specialities include; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Art Therapy to foster well-being.

With over 15-years of clinical experience, Emily has worked in a variety of treatment settings including Bronx Psychiatric Center, New York City Children’s Center, New Hope Mental Health Counseling Center and The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorder Treatment. During her tenure as a group practice owner, she supervised a team of nine therapists, and oversaw a clinical operations for 130+ clients.

Outside of the therapy office, Emily lends her clinical expertise to the tech, startup, and corporate wellness spaces as a behavioral health consultant and workshop facilitator. She advises and presents on employee wellness and delivers innovative trainings and presentations on mental health, and behavioral science. As a member of New York University's Art Therapy Department advisory committee, she helps inform best clinical practices for Art Therapists in training.

Mrs. Davenport has been featured in numerous media outlets such as; Forbes, Insider Weekly, Bustle, Buffalo News, and Mind Body Radio where she advocates for the power of Art Therapy. Her debut book, Social Skills For Teens With Anxiety, was published by Callisto Media in 2025.

Emily holds a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University and a Bachelor's in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. She completed her clinical training at Four Winds Hospital and The Jewish Board for Family and Children’s Services. Her Masters thesis examined the intersection of Art Therapy and Mindfulness through an attachment lens. Among her accomplishments, her proudest role is mothering three children in Eastchester, NY.
